Summary: Jason asks his brother to hang out with his mate's brother so he can keep a date with Mika. Gage agrees and soon he and Yui are more than friends. Until Gage discoverers that Yui isn't the beta he thought he was but an omega. Gage looses his mind a little bit.

“Look, you’re my brother and I need a favor.” Jason ran his hand through his blond hair. “It’ll be really easy.”

“Last time you said something would be easy I got my head stuck in a tree.” Gage countered.

Jason bit his initial response about his brother’s big head, he wanted the temperamental vampire to do as he asked. “I’ll owe you one.”

Gage flexed his crossed arms tighter over his chest. His ruby red eyes narrowing. Gage finally sighed and ran his hand through his own blond hair. “Fine. What’s the favor?”

“Mika’s brother is gonna be in town, he’s staying at our apartment.” Jason held his hand up to stop his brother before he could say too much. “You know the creeps around here. I want to take Mika out for the night, she won’t go if her brother is left alone or at risk because of the creeps. Just hang out for the night. He’s probably going to be dead tiered and pass out.”

“That’s all?” Gage narrowed his eyes at his brother suspiciously.

“That’s all. I’ll even stock up on snowballs.”

Gage lounged on his brother’s couch flipping through the channels waiting for something to catch his attention. He paused on a news station. He sneered as the reporter explained an omega heat causing a frenzy in a mall.

“Fuckers.” Gage grumbled not sure who frustrated him more, omega’s who didn’t stay out of public places, especially near their heat, or the alpha’s who were incapable of controlling themselves. He hit the channel button again and continued surfing the channels.

“Who are you?” A man stood in the doorway of the spare room of Jason’s apartment. His black hair mussed from sleep, green eyes distrustful and weary, and wearing nothing but his boxers.

“Gage. Jason’s brother. You’re Mika’s brother, Yuichiro. Th-”

“Yui.” Yui corrected, he could see the resemblance to his twin’s boyfriend.

Gage nodded his acknowledgment. “They didn’t mention that I’d be here?”

“No. They didn’t.”

Gage shrugged. “Jason assumed you’d be asleep most of the night.”

“Where are they?” Yui answered, glancing around and not seeing the occupants of the apartment.

“Out.” Gage shrugged. “Probably participating in voyeurism.”

“I did not need or want that image in my head.” Yui glared.

Gage lifted his snowball as if it were a cup and he was giving a toast then brought it back to his mouth and took a bite.

Deciding that the man wasn’t much of a threat Yui walked in and sat on the opposite side of the couch to watch the channel flipping, but ended up watching the vampire at the other end of the couch. Yui frowned watching as the other continued eating snowballs.

“What?” Gage snapped when he couldn’t ignore the staring any more.

“Aren’t you a vampire?” Yui looked pointedly at Gage’s eyes and then the snacks.

“Only half.” Gage shrugged.

“Like-”

“If the next word out of your mouth is Blade,” Gage threatened sitting up and shaking a snowball at Yui. “I will choke you on these.”

Yui smirked. “You’ll choke me on your balls?”

“And your sister was worried about the apartment creeps getting you.” Gage said dryly. “Somehow I think you’re the creep.”

Nearly an hour later Yui was laughing on the couch. They had eventually settled on Pet Semetary on Yui’s instance. Gage had rolled his eyes but decided he wouldn’t complain too much. He liked the way the other man laughed.

Five months after meeting him, Gage walked towards his beta boyfriend’s apartment. Yui had finally moved to the city, mostly to be closer to his sister, but Gage liked to think he played some influence in it too, nearly a month and a half ago. He held the plastic Tupperware of chicken noodle soup carefully. He wasn’t as good of a cook as his mother or even his older brother, but he liked to think it would be passable.

They had been planning on going to a movie, that they probably wouldn’t actually watch between heated kisses and fondling hands. He wondered if they would have made it back to one of their apartments before stripping this time, their history said the chances were slim. But then Yui had texted Gage, telling the vampire he wasn’t feeling well and didn’t want to go out that night.

‘I’m burning up. I’m sorry to cancel like this. Next time.’ Had been the final text. Gage had set about making soup for his lover after getting the recipe from his mother, with the decision to surprise his boyfriend. Walking towards the werewolf’s apartment Gage’s nostril’s flared. Something smelled off. Good, but very very off. It was faint, and took Gage a moment to place as the smell of an Omega in heat. It was clearly attempting to be masked. Gage glared. Pulling out his spare key, Gage opened the door and the scent hit him like the freezing plunge he had taken into the pool all those years ago. Gage stepped into the room with a vibrating growl rolling from his chest to warn away other rivals. He barely heard the sound of the door shutting while he scented the air. His mouth parted slightly as he scented the air with soft pants. He turned his head when he heard soft whining cries.

Yui was waiting, spread on the bed with a vibrator as he contorted his body to pleasure himself. He turned barely open green eyes on Gage. Gage watched the eyes he spent far too much time staring into widen.

“Gage.” And it sounded like a prayer to him. Growling softly Gage stepped closer.His growl was slightly frustrated when he reached for his mate and discovered he was still holding the stupid soup. He dropped it over the side of the bed and crawled up the bed as Yui started scooting away. Yui made a soft whimpering moan when he bumped the vibrator.

“Mine.” Gage growled reaching out to grip his ankle and started pulling the other toward him.

“Oh God.” Yui cried out as the vibrator was pushed further into his slicked body with the movement. He reached up and placed his hands on Gage’s shoulder as the other leaned over him. Yui watched the vampire’s fangs elongate as he leaned closer. Yui shivered struggling to remember why he needed to convince Gage to leave when his scent smelled so damn good. “It’s the heat, Gage. Please. I don’t want you to hate me. You need to go.”

“Mine.” Gage growled and and pushed the other’s hands aside before grabbing Yui’s chin and forcing the wolf to stare back at him. “I’ll kill anyone else who comes near you.”

Yui shivered as Gage nuzzled against Yui’s cheek. Yui closed his eyes made a soft begging sound in the back of his throat that only increased when Gage’s free hand reached up and gently began stroking the triangular ears twitching on his head. Yui gave up fighting, he couldn’t even remember why he was fighting in the first place.

Gage ran his tongue over the other’s throat. He let the other’s chin go when he stopped fighting. Yui shivered reaching up to run his fingers through the other’s hair and clutch at the other’s shirt. Gage shifted his weight to balance on his knees between Yui’s legs without moving his mouth from the his neck. He let one hand gently continue rubbing the other’s ears while the other hand moved between them and softly touched the vibrator.

“You should be.” Gage agreed softly. “I will kill anyone else you bring to bed.”

Yui shivered. Part of his mind wondered if he really should find so much pleasure is the statement but he felt his orgasm approaching anyways. With only his lover’s fingers in him.

“JASON! YOU FUCKING BASTARD! OPEN YOUR GOD DAMN DOOR!” He could hear the wood creaking and figured it wouldn’t be much longer before the door itself broke. He couldn’t decide if he was disappointed or not when the door opened and his brother caught his fist.

“What is your fucking problem, Asshole?” Jason grumbled. “It’s nearly one in the morning.”

“You knew didn’t you?” Gage’s fangs were bared again as he leaned into his brother’s personal space.

“Knew what?” Jason rubbed his forehead. It was too early to deal with his crazy family. He heard Mika moving from the bedroom behind him.

“He’s a God damn Omega!” Gage screamed in his brother’s face. Jason didn’t need to turn around to know his own omega mate was stiffening behind him. He stepped into the hall, pushing his brother back, and shut the door.

“Yui? So?” Jason crossed his arms over his bare chest.

“So?! GOD DAMN IT JASON!” Gage through his hands in the air. “They’re all the same! Just stupid fucking hormone driven whores looking for a-”

There was a sharp crack. Jason shook out his, most likely cracked knuckles, and glared down at his brother holding his now bleeding mouth.

“Watch your mouth, Gage.” Jason’s voice was deadly quiet. “So you didn’t know? I wonder why he wouldn’t tell you.”

Gage narrowed his eyes at the sarcasm. Guiltily realizing he had simply assumed Yui was a beta when he didn’t have a knot, and continued spewing his hate of omega’s out.

Jason sighed when he saw the guilt and hurt enter his brother’s eyes. He wondered why Yui had chosen such a late hour to tell his hot head brother. “What’s it really change, Gage? He’s still the same man you’ve known the whole time. He just goes a bit more sex crazy every once in a while.”

Gage wrinkled his nose at the leer that crossed his brother’s face. Gage doubted he ever wanted to know what thoughts crossed the other’s mind at that moment. Jason sighed and sat next to his brother against the wall staring at the apartment door.

“You know it’s all myth, right?” Jason finally whispered. He had listened to his brother’s rants so many times.

“What is?” Gage wiped the blood from his mouth with the back of his hand.

“The shit about omega heats.” Jason turned his blue eyes on his brother. “Waylon’s been doing research on it. It’s like a placebo effect. The riots and shit. Alpha’s expect to go crazy so they do. They’re actually feeding off each other more than the omega. Mob mentality and all that.”

“But-”

“If an omega and alpha or beta are locked up and it’s just the two?” Jason shrugged. “They can both fight it. The omega is more likely to give in, mostly because if they don’t want it their brain turns off and they kinda go into a hibernation and survive without remembering.”

“So it’s rape.” Gage said flatly.

“Not always.” Jason answered. “Do you think I would rape Mika?”

Gage shook his head, he often forgot that Mika was an omega not a beta. He also knew how much his brother loved his mate.

“Do you remember when I crashed the bike?” Jason asked.

Gage frowned at the change in subject. “You looked like road kill warmed over, chewed up, spat out, then warmed up again.”

Jason’s lips twitched. “Mika went into heat while I was still stuck in bed. You know what we did?”

“I kinda don’t want to know.” Gage glared at his brother.

“Nothing.” Jason said. “I was in no condition to do much but regret her suffering. She just stayed by my side with a scent repression clothes on.”

Gage gasped and felt as if he was once again inhaling the frozen water from years ago. When he went through Yui’s door, the scent repression barrier would have been broken. Yui was alone. With no protection in an apartment building with multiple alphas on the same floor.

“I’ve got to go.” Gage felt his heart pounding in his throat as he rushed to his feet.

Jason scratched his cheek as his brother rushed away before getting up and going into his own apartment and seeking the arms of his mate.

Gage raced up the stairs three at a time. Self hatred a familiar embrace. He swore his heart stopped when he saw the apartment door open. It came back to life painfully when he heard Yui’s cries of pain and fear.

Yui was backed into the corner of his own bedroom doing his best to keep the three alphas away. He was sweating and shaking. He had hit his head throwing himself from the bed, away from the largest of the men. Their eyes glazed over as they leered at him. He had avoided just this for years upon years since his first heat. Now here he was. He choked on his own breath when he heard a forth man enter the room and start growling. He felt his body betraying him when it relaxed at the forth growl.

“Mine.” Gage growled savagely. He felt bones crush beneath his hand as he grabbed another man’s arm and threw him bodily across the room. He was just a human and his head made a satisfying thump against the wall as he groaned in pain. “I will kill you all.”

The two turned on him with snarls. One a wolf one a fae. The wolf had the audacity to curl his tail over his back in a sign of dominance. Gage decided he would break it off and feed it to him. He felt fae magic lash at his body and snarled at the sting. He ignored the wolf to charge the more dangerous of the two. Gage felt his skin becoming ripped open under magic and felt wolf fangs sink into the back of his leg.

Yui gasped while shaking slightly when he saw Gage. He whimpered with fear when the other wolf shifted and bit his mate. “No.” He whimpered.

Gage spun around, one hand wrapped around the fae’s throat while he reached for the wolf’s tail. He howled as he released Gage’s leg to howl with pain. Gage’s fangs were flashing as blood dripped from the ripped tail to mix with the blood from the magically torn skin.

“Was this yours?” Gage laughed as the fae continued clawing at his arm. Gage stood up and threw the fae into the whimpering wolf. He followed through by walking over to the human trying to stumble to his feet and kicked him towards his friends then throwing the tail out the door. “Get OUT.”

Gage’s command shook the walls as the three other alphas tripped over eachother to get away. The allure of the omega not stronger than their sense of survival. Gage turned towards Yui who stared at him with wide green eyes.

Gage felt crushing guilt again and knelt in the blood where he stood. “Yui. I’m sorry. Are you okay?”

Yui watched as his mate lifted his hand then seemed to think better of it after seeing the bloody rips and lowered again. Yui choked on a small sob and rushed forward, crashing into the vampire and clinging to him.

“Scared. I was so scared Gage.” Yui shook against the other.

“Shh…you’re safe.” Gage answered. “I’ve got you. You’re safe now.”

“I’m sorry too.” Yui said. Feeling the over powering of heat building again over the fear.

“Shh. No. It’s all my fault.” Gage scooped his mate up and sat on the bed holding his mate close. “We’ll talk later. Let me make you feel good?”

“Please.” Yui agreed nuzzling against Gage desperately. “Please don’t leave again.”

“Never.” Gage whispered against his skin, laying him out on his bed with feather light touches. “You’re mine. Never again.”
